Tribute Mondays: Coot Grant / Leola B. Wilson

Leola B. Henton or Pettigrew (June 11 or 17, 1893 – December 26, 1970)

Classic Female Blues, Country Blues and Vaudeville Singer and Songwriter, Coot Grant / Leola B. Wilson, had a successful tenure with her husband, Wesley "Kid" Wilson and also as a Solo Artist from the 1910's to the early 1930's. She worked in Vaudeville in America at aged 7 years old and toured South Africa and Europe in 1901 at aged 8 years old, with Mayme Remington's Pickaninnies. She recorded under numerous aliases from the 1910's onwards. She appeared in movies and was also a Guitar player. She and her husband wrote over 400 songs.
