Elvin Ray Jones (September 9, 1927 – May 18, 2004)


Post Bop Drummer, Elvin Jones, was a part of the United States Army for 3 years during the 1940's. After leaving the Army penniless, he embarked on a career that included stints with John Coltrane, Charles Mingus and others and also with his own Bands.
