Ray Willis Nance (December 10, 1913, in Chicago – January 28, 1976, in New York City)


Jazz Trumpeter, Violinist and Singer. Ray Nance, became an Duke Ellington collaborator after leading his own Band for 5 years during the 1930's. He is regarded for his Trumpet and Violin Solos and was also a revered sideman.
