Tribute Mondays: Bertie King

Albert King (1912–1981)

Jamaican Jazz and Mento Musician (Clarinet, Saxophone), Albert King, began his tenure as a Bandleader in his own Band during the 1930's and worked as a Sideman to Benny Carter, George Shearing, Coleman Hawkins and others. He led the Jamaican Broadcasting Corporation Band in the 1950's and continued performing into the 1960's; he died in 1981. Thanks for your contribution Mr. King, you are appreciated.
