Frankie Smith

Franklyn Leon "Frankie" Smith (born 1953, Philadelphia , Pennsylvania)

Funk Musician and R&B/Soul Singer and Songwriter, Frank Smith, wrote for the O'Jays and The Spinners and influenced Rappers Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg and Tone Loc. He popularized the widely used Hip Hop slang Iz and Izzle (for example "sure" becomes "shizzle") in 1981 and his songs have been sampled by Hip Hop Artists.
