Jazz Greats: Nathan Davis

Nathan Tate Davis (February 15, 1937 – April 8, 2018)

Jazz Instrumentalist (Saxophone, Bass Clarinet and Flute), Nathan Davis, worked as a sideman with Ray Charles, Art Blakey, Eric Dolphy and others. He had a Ph.D in Ethnomusicology and was a Professor of Music and Director of Jazz Studies at the University of Pittsburgh beginning in 1969. Robert Knight

Robert Peebles (born April 24, 1945 –died November 5, 2017)

Singer, Robert Knight, had a long career from 1961 to the year of his death in 2017. He was a member of the Paramounts during the 1960's. After being banned from recording for 4 1/2 years, he studied Chemistry at the Tennessee State University and made a comeback in 1967, gaining a following as a solo Artist and scoring Pop and R&B hits. He worked as a Chemistry Teacher and Chemical Lab Technician at the Vanderbilt University and became a favourite on the Northern Soul scene.
