Jazz Greats: Ike Quebec

Ike Abrams Quebec (August 17, 1918 – January 16, 1963)

Jazz tenor Saxophonist, Ike Quebec, was active from the Big Band era of the 1940's. He was also a Dancer and Pianist and worked at Blue Note Records as a Talent Scout and Arranger. He faded from the music scene for a few years, but made a comeback in 1959, releasing material up to 1962: he died a year later in 1963. His repertoire as a Sideman incorporated efforts with Cab Calloway, Coleman Hawkins, Ella Fitzgerald, Hot Lips Page and others.
