Jazz Greats: Porter Kilbert

Porter Kilbert (June 10, 1921 – October 23, 1960)

Jazz Alto and Tenor Saxophonist, Porter Kilbert, worked in numerous Bands (Coleman Hawkins Band, Red Saunders Band, Roy Eldridge Band and many others) and recorded with Fats Navarro, Milt Jackson, Max Roach and others from 1942 to 1952. He formed his own Band in 1952 and was a part of the "Battle of the Saxes"  both in 1955 and 1956 with Tom Archia at the C&C Lounge.
