The Funk Brothers

The Funk Brothers

Detroit based Session Musicians, The Funk Brothers, were behind the sound of Motown Records from 1959 to 1972. Their repertoire included the Soul,  Funk and R&B Genres, but they were only allowed to perform their own recordings under the name, Earl Van Dyke and the Soul Brothers and were unknowns in the eyes of music fans. They disbanded in 1972 after Motown moved to LA from Detroit. Please take a listen here and have a sweet Wednesday:  Six by six (Earl Van Dyke and the Soul Brothers)
