Tribute Mondays: Jack McVea

John Vivian "Jack" McVea (Nov. 5, 1914 – Dec. 27, 2000)

Swing, Blues and Rhythm and Blues Clarinet, Tenor and Baritone Saxophone Player, Jack McVea, worked from the 1930's to 1992. He was a part of Lionel Hampton's Band before leading his own in 1944 and performed at the first staging of Jazz at the Philharmonic Concert in 1949. He went on to play regarded Riffs and was featured on T-Bone Walker's {Call it stormy Monday, (but Tuesday is just as bad)}. He died in the year 2000.
