Stanley Clarke (born June 30, 1951)

Bassist and Film Composer, Stanley Clarke, is a Founding member of the Band, Return to Forever, and he helped to establish the Bass Guitar in the Jazz Genre. He is regarded for his prowess on both the acoustic and electric Bass. He has equal mastery on both instruments. He was featured on works by others (Stanley Getz, Dexter Gordon, Horace Silver, Art Blakey and many others) and is revered for his work in the Band, Return to Forever and also for his successful  solo Albums. He composed for film and television and also ventured into Rock Music.
