Johnny Lamont Merrett (born Feb. 11, 1943 – May 17, 2002)

Blues and Soul Singer, Little Johnny Taylor, recorded during the 1960's and 1970's. He is sometimes confused with Johnnie Taylor, whom also recorded during the same period. He started out as a Gospel Singer in The Mighty Clouds of Joy, before branching out into secular music. He scored a few hits and continued performing up to 2002, the year of his death.
