Singing Groups: Dandridge Sisters

Dandridge Sisters

All Girl Singing Trio, the Dandridge Sisters, consisted of Dorothy Dandridge, Vivian Dandridge and Etta Jones (not the Jazz vocalist). They  performed regularly at the Cotton Club when all members were only 14 years old. The Trio frequented tours in Europe and also worked for MGM Studios in 1938 and with the Jimmy Lunceford Orchestra. Dorothy Dandridge died in 1965, Vivian Dandridge died in 1991 and Etta Jones has not been heard of since the Trio split in 1940. Please take a listen here and have a sweet Wednesday: I Ain't Gonna Study War No More, Undecided (1939) and That's your Red Wagon (Jimmy Lunceford Band ft. Dandridge Sisters)
