J. C. Johnson

ay Cee Johnson  (September 14, 1896 – February 27, 1981)


Pianist and Songwriter, J. C. Johnson, wrote for Bessie Smith, Ella Fitzgerald, Ethel Waters and others and was a part of Blind Willie Dunn & His Gin Bottle Four during the 1930's. He was an ambulance driver during World War ll and continued his career after the War with his songs being featured in movies.
