John Josephus Hicks, Jr. (Dec. 21, 1941 – May 10, 2006)
Jazz Pianist, Composer and Arranger, John Hicks, was active from 1958 to 2006. He began his career backing Blues Musicians and eventually moved into Jazz and it's sub genres. He was Bandleader on more than 30 Albums and worked as a sideman on over 300 projects. He was also a member of The Jazz Messengers and taught at Southern Illinois University.
