Tribute Mondays: Otis Spann

Otis Spann (March 21, 1924 or 1930 – April 24, 1970)

Chicago Blues Pianist, Otis Spann, was regarded for his distinctive piano style and was referred to as the leading post war Chicago Blues Pianist. He worked with Muddy Waters, Bo Didley, Howlin' Wolf, Chuck Berry and others. In addition to his session work at Chess Records, he also released Solo efforts. During the late 1960's he was featured on Albums by Fleetwood Mac, Buddy Guy and others. He died of Liver cancer in 1970. Thanks for your contribution Mr. Spann, you are appreciated.
