Todd Duncan

Robert Todd Duncan (Feb. 12, 1903 – Feb. 28, 1998)

Baritone Opera Singer and Actor, Todd Duncan, was renown for his portrayal of Porgy (he played the role 1800 times) in the 1935 production of Porgy and Bess.  He had a Bachelors in Music (Butler University) and a Masters Degree (Columbia University Teachers College). He taught voice for over fifty years at Howard University and acted in regarded Plays. He also recorded the first version of "Unchained Melody."
