Gospel Hymn Writers: Louise Shropshire

Louise Shropshire (February 15, 1913 – November 26, 1993)

Louise Shropshire was a Composer of Hyms and a Choir Director that worked regularly with Rev. Thomas A. Dorsey. She also worked alongside Dr. Martin Luther King in the Civil Rights Movement. She died penniless in 1993, due to the  exhausting of her financial resources to help others. There are a few videos that really represents her work  on YouTube. Please take a listen here and enjoy your Weekend: I'm trying my best to get home to see my Jesus (Truzella McClain and the Revelation Baptist Church Choir.Musical Direction by Rev. Mother Louise Shropshire)
