Tribute Mondays: Sam Rivers

Samuel Carthorne Rivers (September 25, 1923 – December 26, 2011)

Jazz Musician (Soprano and Tenor Saxophone, Bass Clarinet, Flute, Harmonica and Piano), Bandleader and Composer, Sam Rivers, was active from the 1950's to 2011. He was a part of many Jazz Ensembles, released noted Albums as a Bandleader and was a much loved Sideman. He ran the Jazz Loft "Studio Rivbea" during the 1970's, creating a space for Jazz performers and continued working up to his later years. Thanks for your Contribution Mr. Rivers, you are appreciated.
