Shirley Verrett (May 31, 1931 – November 5, 2010)

Operatic Mezzo Soprano, Shirley Verrett, had a long period of fame from the 1960's to the 1990's. Her career included many concerts, Operas and a stint on Broadway. She was the Professor of Voice and Professor of Dance at the University of Michigan School of Music, Theater and Dance.
