Robert Keith McFerrin Sr. (March 19, 1921 – November 24, 2006)

Operatic Baritone, Robert McFerrin, was the father of Bobby McFerrin (Don't worry be happy). He began singing as a young boy and moved on to performing to earn funds for his College enrollment. He attended both Fisk University and the Chicago Musical College. He won many Competitions and had title roles and supporting roles in numerous Operas. He was the singing voice for Sidney Poiter's character in the movie "Porgy & Bess". Mr. McFerrin later gave singing lessons and was a voice teacher at Sacramento State College. He died in 2006; thanks for your contribution Mr. McFerrin, you are appreciated. Please take a listen here and have an exciting Monday: Deep River (full Album 1957)
