Camelia Brass Band

Camelia Brass Band

Wooden Joe Nicholas (Founder of the Band)

The Camelia Brass Band came into being in 1917 and was named after a Steamboat, the S. S.  Camelia. The ensemble played music using the combinations of Trumpets, Trombones, Clarinets, Tubas, Snare Drums and Bass Drums. They continued to work into the 1920's. It is unclear when the Band disbanded, as there aren't any info available about the Band after a certain period. There are no photos or videos of the Band only endless info. Please take a listen here of a song by the founder Wooden Joe Nicholas and have a sweet Wednesday: Lead me on (Wooden Joe Nicholas)
