Jimmy Harrison

James Henry Harrison (October 17, 1900, Louisville, Kentucky – July 23, 1931, New York City)

Jazz Trombonist, Jimmy Harrison, started out at 15 years old. He was a Semi Pro Baseball player that switched to music in the 1910's. He led his own ensemble and toured with James P. Johnson, Carlie Johnson, Sam Wooding and others into the 1920's. He developed a stomach ailment in 1930 and died from it in 1931 at aged 30 years old.
