Roger Troutman

Roger Troutman (November 29, 1951 – April 25, 1999)

Singer, Composer, Songwriter, Producer and Multi-instrumentalist, Roger Troutman, founded the Zapp Band and was renown for his use of the Talk Box  effect in his and the Zapp Band's music. He had many Funk and R&B hits during the 1980's. He produced Singer Shirley Murdock in 1985 and continued into the 1990's working with other Artists, including Hip Hop stars Eazy E, 2Pac and Dr. Dre. He was killed in a murder suicide in 1999.
